Deadpool 2’s recently released trailer has an Easter Egg from the Goonies and fans are delighted with it. 1985 was too far back, and not many even remember that Josh Brolin was a part of that film. However, Ryan Reynolds and the team of Deadpool certainly does, as highlighted by the Easter Egg. Attentive viewers spotted a minor tribute to the iconic positive artist Bob Ross in the scene where the Merc with a Mouth is seen playing with his action figures, which gives the impression that there would be a lot of little secrets to be revealed by the film.
Towards the end of the Deadpool 2 trailer, you can spot The Goonies Easter Egg in the scene where Josh Brolin’s Cable faces Ryan Reynolds’, Wade Wilson. It is a funny seen due to some vulgar dialog from Cable and Blind Al trying to point her gun at him, however, as a Twitter user noticed, Wade Wilson is wearing a shirt which is a great deal similar to Chunk’s shirt from Goonies, which was then confirmed by Ryan Reynolds.
The abovementioned shirt is the famous black Hawaiian shirt worn by Chunk throughout the Goonies film, and it seems as if Deadpool 2 either managed to get exactly the same shirt from the movie or got one custom-made for the first appearance of Deadpool and Cable in the same scene. We don’t know yet if people will crack jokes about Wade Wilson looking like Chunk, but, it is not unimaginable. The shirt with the Bob Ross painting gives the impression that we will spot a lot of mystery jokes and gags during the upcoming sequel of Deadpool.
The new trailer is primarily focused on Josh Brolin’s character Cable, and it leads to further questions instead of answers, which certainly augurs well. Various trailers appear to reveal all the plot details stuffed into a few minutes, taking away the surprise element for the movie’s cinematic release. However, the trailer has caused some concern already, and fans are pointing to Zazie Beet’z appearance as Domino, and others who are worried that we don’t have a clear idea of what the story is about. Venom fans faced the same problem before it was disclosed that the film was inspired by the Lethal Protector comic series.
Deadpool 2 will release on May 18th, and it’s bound to be a massive treasure of Easter Eggs, which will compel fans to watch it repeatedly. Josh Brolin hasn’t yet commented on the Goonies link, but, it is understandable that he would have enjoyed it. During the summer, the actor attended a costume party dressed as Brand, his character in Goonies. There is also a nod to Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War, another character played by Josh Brolin, therefore, we are looking forward to a great deal of Easter Eggs in Deadpool 2.
