It has been 30 years since “Star Trek/Star Wars” parody “Spaceballs” had hit the screen. Mel Brooks had sent up all facets of outer space adventures in a movie which featured Princess Vespa, Mr. Brooks and Dark Helmet.
Rumors have swirled for many years for a sequel and this gained traction over the summer when Mr. Brooks had said that MGM was had been interested given the success of the new “Star Wars” movies.
Bill Pullman had laughed when he had been asked if this sequel would reach the fans.
“It’s the ticking clock of all time, isn’t it?” Mr. Pullman has said.
“I’m just so glad I’m not in my nineties and being in Mel Brooks skit with the number of people who are waiting for him to do ‘Spaceballs: The Sequel,’” Mr. Pullman had said.
Mr. Pullman ventured that Mr. Brooks has given a sequel a lot of thought but time does not seem to be on anyone’s side as Mr. Pullman is 63 and Mr. Brooks is 91.
