A Chinese farmer and his son had combined car parts and ingenuity, and their love for “Transformers” and created a $160,000-a-year business by making robot sculptures.

It took them three years to make these. Yu Zhilin has a background in fine arts, and in 3 years he built the first replica and used a makeshift workshop, metal and a few images from the Internet.

He and his son, Lu Yingyun had refined this process and allowed them to make much larger statues.

This work then gained high demand in China and Shanghaiist had reported that there was a steady stream of visitors to the Hunan Province workshop.
