14 Terrible Reactions To The Venom Trailer

The Venom trailer is now dominating most discussions and unfortunately, it is not a positive one.

Fans do not seem to react well to this trailer. Tom Hardy is never shown with his Venom symbiote. This symbiote as such is shown in a few different containers in a particular sequence in the trailer.

There are many opinions about this subject which range from outrage to the fans who acknowledge that CGI has not had a chance to make headway and since this suit will be CGI and there was little chance that it will appear in the first trailer

A few on social media are not letting this slide and question if it was right to release this trailer at all. A few reactions have been harsh and we have now collected a few standout reactions:

SLIDE 1/14 – MATTHEW A. CHERRY

Sometimes a simple GIF can express what words simply cannot.

“*Let’s debut a Venom teaser without showing Venom* The Internet:”

SLIDE 2/14 – GREG WYSHYNSKI

Some have used this as an opportunity to envision the meeting where the teaser trailer was hashed out and threw in a few other movie comparisons:

“Sir, should we put Venom in this Venom trailer?”

“DID THEY PUT DINOSAURS IN THE FIRST JURASSIC PARK TRAILER?”

“Yeah, like, all of them.”

“OK … WELL…. THE CGI ISN’T READY BUT BLACK PANTHER IS NEXT WEEK AND TOM HARDY’S BACK AND NECK ARE ITS OWN SPECIAL EFFECT.”

SLIDE 3/14 – GAMESPOT

A jab can hurt when the person throwing this uses your very own footage against you:

“When you realize Venom isn’t in the Venom trailer.”

SLIDE 4/14 – ROBBIE COLLIN

It is easy to understand why there are viewers who are disappointed at no appearance of Hardy in costume:

“I mean, if *I* were doing a Venom trailer I’d probably tease the actual symbiote, since it’s what makes the character fun and unique and lots of people don’t know about it? But maybe there’s a big audience for Tom Hardy in a CT scanner ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

SLIDE 5/14 – ARMINIES

Arminies has decided to put this trailer in perspective and compares it to Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel movie:

“IMAGINE for a second that Tomorrow we get the First Captain Marvel Teaser Trailer And it features No Suit, flight or her powers… You would all fn destroy Marvel for it and headline “Captain Marvel in development Trouble” would be the headlines. That’s #Venom”

“You can actually take any Tom Cruise action film from the last 4 years, take the clips of him running and riding a bike and edit it to be just like the Venom trailer and no one would know lol”

SLIDE 6/14 – MR. GOJIRA95

You know it is bad when Spider-Man 3 gets used as an example to aspire to:

“When Spider Man 3 showed more Venom than the new teaser.”

SLIDE 7/14 – BRIAN LYNCH

No one can put things into perspective like Ian Malcolm:

“Ah, now eventually you DO plan to have Venom in your, in your VENOM movie, right? Hello?”

SLIDE 8/14 – HEATHER ANTOS

“I’m very curious to learn more about the audience the Venom marketing team thought that trailer was for…I’m very curious to learn more about the audience the Venom marketing team thought that trailer was for…On the one hand, it’s a Venom movie. So they can “count” on Spider-Man & Venom fans seeing the film no matter what. On the other hand…not seeing even a tease of Venom whatsoever?”

SLIDE 9/14 – ROB CABRERA

There are a few fans who get the “teaser” aspect but they are disappointed with the lack of the killer shot:

SLIDE 10/14 – MATTHEW BUCK

Others don’t see the point of releasing a trailer if it isn’t ready with at least one shot to entice fans and viewers alike.

“If it’s too early to even show a single shot of the title character in your trailer… maybe just don’t release a trailer? #Venom”

SLIDE 11/14 – MATT

If the fans are angry about Venom not being in the trailer, imagine what they would have felt like if did not appear in the movie:

“Imagine this:

What if, in the Venom movie, Eddie Brock never fully becomes Venom until the final scene of the film. Basically, it’s just Tom Hardy spazzing out through out the whole movie.”

SLIDE 12/14 – UNILAD FILM

The Spider-Man film references still continue:

SLIDE 13/14 – EXHIBITOR RELATIONS

“You get one, ONE chance to make a first impression. Okay, maybe two, but that’s it. Well, three, but seriously, no more than that. Let’s hope Sony is hiding more than they’re showing. VENOM.”

SLIDE 14/14 – STEEL

Sometimes you have to look to Office Space and sum things up:
