Avengers: Infinity War got a new TV spot a short while back, which depicted the much-awaited reunion between Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).

“It’s all been leading to this,” Stark told Banner in what seemed to be their first conversation in years. Banner had left the planet in the final scenes of Avengers: Age of Ultron and was later found by Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as living the life of a gladiator on the battle planet of Sakaar.

The Avengers duo shares a scene in what looked like the Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich Village, New York, where a baffled Bruce Banner had crash-landed in the initial trailer of Avengers: Infinity War.

Stark and Banner then step into the messy streets along with their new allies Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and magician Wong (Benedict Wong), where they looked at the cylindrical alien thing which was also spotted by Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Tony and Bruce are affectionately called the ‘Science Bros’ right from their initial meeting in the 2012 film The Avengers, where they worked together as the brainy guys of the team. Stark and Banner had a great friendship which was the source of the funny post-credits scene of Iron-Man 3, where Banner was hesitatingly playing therapist to a talkative Tony.

Avengers: Age of Ultron saw the Avengers fight each other when the Scarlet Witch (an enemy back then) used her powers to warp Banner’s mind, letting loose a destructive Hulk on Johannesburg, South Africa. Hulk’s mayhem was cut short by Stark in his Hulkbuster armor, which was built by Tony and Banner for such an eventuality.

Bruce is surprised upon his return to the blue planet after years of exile. The Avengers have been split, Captain America is hiding from the law, and an unprecedented alien invasion is headed Earth’s way.

Avengers: Infinity War is the second film of the three-part story arc for Bruce Banner who can’t be featured in a solo film due to a pre-existing distribution logjam with the rival Universal Studios. The arc got going with Thor: Ragnarok and will culminate in Avengers 4 releasing next year.

Avengers: Infinity War releases on May 4.
