Is Boba Fett A Part Of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Super Bowl Trailer?

After withstanding the change  of directors, leaks, and huge speculations, the first trailer of Solo: A Star Wars Story finally arrived during Super Bowl 52, and it answered a question that a lot of fans had been asking: Is Boba Fett a part of the trailer?

Sadly for the fans, the iconic bounty-hunter of Star Wars saga, wasn’t a part of the first trailer for the upcoming movie.

The absence of Boba Fett from the Solo: A Star Wars Story might have surprised fans. It was earlier expected that Fett would be a part of the movie. Giving him a role in Solo: A Star Wars Story would have been a great deal logical for the overall story of the relationship between Fett and Han from the original Star Wars trilogy. In Solo, Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) will be  fooling around in the hostile underworld of the Star Wars universe. Which would mean roaming among frauds, gangsters, smugglers and bounty hunters, and that’s where you would have expected Boba Fett’s presence.

Another indication of Fett’s involvement is that there hasn’t been any villain announced for the movie. Thandie Newton was revealed to be a member of the Empire; however, as the lead villain, it is unlike Star Wars for the films to feature a solo villain. There are the other rivals that the heroes have to deal with, villains who at times are more dangerous than the lead villain. Newton’s character might be more dangerous for Han and his pals while other villains such as Fett might have been useful for a more detailed story.

However, the fact that Boba Fett is missing from the Solo trailer might revive the talk about a solo film based on the bounty hunter. The rumors about a film based on Boba Fett have been going around since 2013 when the moviemaker Josh Trank was probably working on the project as a part of spinoff plans at Lucasfilm. Trank separated from Lucasfilm in 2015, and it has been reported that Lucasfilm will make an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. It is possible that Fett has been missing from the Solo trailer because the plans of a Fett solo movie are not yet scrapped.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will release on May 25th.
