Finally! A short while back Rockstar Games unveiled the official release date for Red Dead Redemption 2. The developer announced via a tweet and a formal statement that Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit the market on October 26, 2018. Have a look.

It has taken longer than expected. A lot of us believed that the release date trailer would come out at E3, and release in July, even though Rockstar had promised a spring release. It is sad that the game got delayed, but, we are happy that the release date has been announced sooner than we anticipated. It is quite likely that Rockstar was keen to announce the release date before the fiscal year ended in March, to increase awareness and investor confidence. It is not as if they need it because Take-Two is among the most profitable companies in operation.

Go ahead and read for yourself what Rockstar had stated in its short, and sweet update: “Dear All, We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th, 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”

You can also see the various images released here. It is not a substitute for what would have been a spring release, and it is not the kind of release trailer we had anticipated, but, guess what? We are happy that Rockstar has at least tried not to lie, and it would be better to play a well-made game later than a hurriedly done game released sooner. We are supporting Rockstar; now we just hope that Rockstar will give us some footage of the underworks sweet gameplay!

We will share with you any update related to new footage or trailer. We expect that to avoid any disappointment among fans; a fun trailer might be around the corner. Just stay tuned!
