The CW Give Green Light To ‘Charmed’ Reboot

The CW has now announced that it will move ahead with the reboot of Charmed which comes from Jane the Virgin creator, Jennie Urman.

This reboot had been pitched in the last cycle and the network passed on it. And this approach is described as a “fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series.”

The project is now in its pilot stage, and the network has an opportunity to pick up for a series run. Urman will be serving as the executive producer and will have a story by credit. This episode will be scripted by Amy Rardin and Jessica O’Toole.

This series had aired on WB before it became The CW and starred Shannen Doherty (Prue Halliwell), Holly Marie Combs (Piper Halliwell) and Alyssa Milano (Phoebe Halliwell). The trio had made up the sisters from 1998 to 2001. Rose McGowan joined this series as Paige Matthews, and Leo Wyatt, Julian McMahon and Darryl Morris were featured in this series.

After eight 8 seasons, it came to an end in 2006, and the tales of Piper, Paige, and Phoebe had continued in the comic books.

Whether or not the original cast members will reprise any roles, we do not know. When the news about this reboot had surfaced last year, Combs and Milano had taken to social media and showed their support.

The CW is also moving forward with Dead Inside. This series “follows an underachieving beat cop who survived the explosion that killed her hotshot detective brother. When she starts seeing his ghost, their sibling dynamic is flipped on its head as they work together to help crime victims both living and dead, and figure out the unfinished business keeping his spirit on Earth.”
