Bruce Banner and Tony Stark have serious competition when it comes to being a genius in the MCU. According to Nate More,
Black Panther’s producer, T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, is the smartest person in Wakanda and the world.
“As far as the technologically-advanced side, in our mind, and in our incarnation, Shuri is the head of the Wakanda Design Group,” Moore had said.
“She’s the smartest person in the world, smarter than Tony Stark but she’s a sixteen-year-old girl which we thought was really interesting. Again, black faces in positions of power or positions of technological know-how, that’s a rarity. So it’s something that’s a big part of the film.”
Shuri is the princess of Wakanda and had been introduced in May 2005 in Black Panther #2. She then assumed the mantle of Black Panther after T’Challa was attacked by Cabal. The movie’s the trailer shows Shuri and T’Challa standing in front of identical costumes and made a few speculate that maybe she will follow in the footsteps of her comic-book-version.
Black Panther will release on Feb. 16 and is director by Ryan Coogler. It will star Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, Danai Guira, Winston Duke, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett and Andy Serkis.
