‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Has A Major MCU Prediction!

It is a delight whenever we get to spot continuity hints, and references in the MCU and the latest revelation has come from Captain America: The First Avenger.

The First Avenger shows Captain America battle the Red Skull during the World War II. The Red Skull claimed that he had foreseen Steve Rogers’ and rest of the world’s future, and probably he wasn’t lying. “You wear a flag on your chest and think you fight for your nation,” Red Skull said. “I have seen the future, Captain! There are no flags.”

The first trailer of Avengers: Infinity War shows Captain America wear such a worn out costume while he is in hiding from his own country’s laws, that you can no longer spot the flag on his chest. The war that he is about to join is all about a whole planet joining hands to fight a cosmic villain. There is no flag raised by Thanos, his Black Order or their army, exactly as predicted by Red Skull.

Not only that, but the quote also refers to the reality of the current issues affecting Steve Rogers, which are not related to flags. While earlier it used to be America versus another country for him back then has now become Avengers versus global threats such as Ultron or at times, superheroes battling against superheroes. (Civil War).

Reddit user 235967828725 first figured out the Red Skull quote and its futuristic meaning. But then, the user might be proven wrong when the quote is seen in the context of the movie. The film implied that Red Skull’s quote about the future was about his ruling the whole world himself. He didn’t know or anticipate that his plans would be foiled and it would be several decades before a mega flag-less enemy will appear. Rather, if he had indeed seen the future, then the Red Skull has to be present among the various characters who are coming back for the mega team up.

“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time,” reads Avengers: Infinity War’s synopsis. “The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.”

Captain America: The First Avenger can now be enjoyed on blu-ray, DVD, and DigitalHD.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to release in theaters on May 4, 2018.
