Olivia Munn, the star of X-Men: Apocalypse used social media to dispel rumors about her dating the Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, who in August last parted ways from actress Anna Faris, his wife of eight years.
Munn tweeted on Sunday afternoon, blasting the tabloid favorite rumor by using screenshots from her Instagram story, where she had tagged both Faris and Pratt.
Munn posted a five-point list clarifying everything:
“1. Not every woman is scorned and upset after a breakup.
- Not every woman is “furious” at another woman for dating her ex.
- Even if I was dating @prattprattpratt, some tabloids got me and @annakfaris all wrong.
- Women respect and love each other a lot more than some people like to think.
- Chris and I would have a horrible celebrity name: Crolivia, Prunn, Chrisivia, Olipratt.”
Munn had sent a text to Faris on January 4, stating that there was “0% truth” in the rumors that romantically linked her to Pratt.
“I would never respond to random tabloid stories, but since we know each other I wanted to reach out to you personally to tell you the story about me and Chris dating has 0% truth,” Munn wrote.
“I’m sure you already know it’s not true, or maybe didn’t care either way, but I just wanted to reach out personally to tell you it’s not true.”
“This town is so f—king crazy,” Faris wrote, adding, “you are so sweet to text.”
“Having said that,” she added, “if you were my new sister in law I would be thrilled!”
Pratt and Faris simultaneously filed for divorce on 1st December 2017.
They had got married in July 2009 and mentioned July 13 as the date they separated due to irreconcilable differences.
They both asked for joint legal and physical custody of Jack Pratt, their five-year-old-son.
Munn is likely to star in the upcoming Fox movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix in November, where she will reprise her Apocalypse role of a psionic blade-wielding mutant called Psylocke.
Pratt’s next cinematic appearance will be as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the Marvel Studios mega film Avengers: Infinity War, where he will be a part of a huge ensemble cast linking the biggest Marvel franchises for the first time.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4. X-Men: Dark Phoenix releases on November 2.
