A recent report has indicated that Scarlett Johansson may be Hollywood’s highest-paid actress with the Black Widow movie.
The news had surfaced last week that Marvel Studios hired Jac Shaeffer for this solo outing and there is no indication if this project has got a go signal. The Daily Mail has added fuel to this fire with a report that Disney and Marvel have reached a $25 million deal and this will make Johansson the highest-paid actress. The Back-end bonuses may push this figure to $31 million.
This will place Johansson way ahead of Emma Stone who Forbes had mentioned as 2017’s highest-paid actress ($26 million) and Jennifer Aniston ($25.5 million).
Johansson has now signed for the “one-off” feature and the movie will release in 2020. The actress’ agents are now in negotiation with Marvel in order ensure that she receives a producer credit. This may have her earn $6 million if this movie surpasses $900 million.
Another report has indicated that the actress will meet with Shaeffer by next month and chart a direction for this movie.
Marvel’s slate beyond Phase Three is unknown other than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
Johansson will reprise her role as Black Widow in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War.
