Bad News Fans: ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ Has Been Officially Cancelled

The Shannara Chronicles has been officially cancelled. Spike, had declined to order the new episodes. The Shannara Chronicles had premiered on MTV in 2016. This series moved to Spike TV for the Season 2. The Paramount Network will air many other Spike TV series, but surely not Shannara.

“We have officially passed on making any more,” network president Kevin Kay said.

“Maybe [Sonar Entertainment] is going to take it somewhere else. For us, we passed on the future of that.”

Sonar Entertainment is the one who produces The Shannara Chronicles. The special effects that have been used to create Shannara’s world make this show’s production pretty expensive.Related image

Miles Millar and Al Gough had created The Shannara Chronicles. This series is an adaptation of Terry Brooks’ novels.

The Shannara Chronicles films its shows in New Zealand- Auckland Film Studio. This series’ first season had 10 episodes. MTV had announced Season 2 renewal by April 2016. By May 2017 MTV had announced that this show was to move to Spike TV. Season 2 of had debuted on October 11, 2017.

The story of Shannara is Brooks’s novels- The Sword of Shannara Trilogy. The Chronicles of Shanarra had used plots of The Elfstones of Shannara. This series is set in a fantasy, Four Lands. A mystical tree named as Ellcrys had kept demons out of the Four Lands for many years but is now withering. A group of young adventures and their mentor try to prevent the demons from returning

The series had starred Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Poppy Drayton, Aaron Jakubenko, Manu Bennett, Malese Jow, Marcus Vanco, Gentry White and Vanessa Morgan.
