Fans of Marvel took the news of the Disney-Fox deal as a blessing as well as a curse. They voiced out their concerns that Disney may take Deadpool and gut it. But it is confirmed that Drew Goddard will write and direct X-Force. This movie will feature Josh Brolin’s Cable and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.
Discussing Film had reported that Drew Goddard is attached to X-Force and this movie is in development. It had also been reported that Goddard was taking over this project from Jeff Wadlow.
Goddard is set to direct Bad Times with Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges but he has started the script for X-Force. Goddard will devote most of his 2018 to Bad Times at the El Royale. Production for X-Force will start in 2019.
The director/writer had launched Daredevil TV series for Netflix and wrote The Martian with the idea to helm, but handed the movie to Ridley Scott. He then focused on Sinister Six, which was scrapped while Sony had regrouped and made Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Disney head, Bob Eiger said that they are talking about making an R-rated set of movies for Marvel. All Marvel fans can relax and know that X-Force is still on track.
