Just a few weeks after DC’s Titans had debuted their image of BrentonThwaites as Robin, they released a photo of the cast. We now meet Hawk and Dove (Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly).
Hawk’s outfit is based on Steve Ditko’s original design, and Dove is a replica of the look that Rob Liefeld had introduced in the ’80s.
The detail in these costumes, designed by Laura Jean Shannon is more than just recreating the comic book’s look. Hawk has gouges and cracks on his costume, and this makes sense since he plays the role of a hot-headed bruiser.
Dove’s costume looks like it has never seen the battle. This may be because she is new to the game or it might just be reflective of her character.
The heroes will be just recurring characters in Titans‘ first season and may become regulars by Season 2.
Titan will debut in 2018 on DC’s unnamed digital service. Here is the synopsis of this series:
“Titans is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.”
This series had been first announced as in development in 2014. Then the news broke that it moved into DC’s digital service.
Titans is executive produced by AkivaGoldsman, Greg Berlanti Geoff Johns, and Sarah Schechter. Johns, DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer, had also revealed that he would be writing for this series.
