The reboot of The Crow which will star Jason Momoa is currently progressing with its plans to film their scenes in Budapest, Hungary.
Omega Underground has recently claimed that The Crow Reborn will start its filming in Budapest by 2018. This place has been a very popular filming spot with many recent releases having shot scenes in this area. A few movies are Atomic Blonde, 2049, The Martian and Blade Runner. Tim Miller’s latest Terminator movie is set to film here.
Joining Corin Hardy on this movie is Martijn van Broekhuizen and Alex Cameron. They worked on The Hallow (2015). Raymond Gieringer has worked on Drag Me to Hell and he will be the one to serve as VFX supervisor.
The Crow Reborn will star Jason Momoa as Eric Draven. He returns from the dead and seeks vengeance on the organization that had killed his fiancee. It is based off the 1989 comic, The Crow by James O’Barr. It had been published by CaliberComics, and sold more than 750,000 copies.
The Crow had been adapted into a movie in 1994 and this movie was helmed by Alex Proyas and Brandon Lee starred as Draven.
Lee had died on the set after he had been wounded by a defective blank from a gun. And this is why Proyas is against the idea of remaking the movie.
“I was privileged to know Brandon Lee – he was a young, immensely gifted actor with a great sense of humour and a bright future ahead of him,” Proyas shared on Facebook.
“I was also privileged to have been able to call him a friend. Our working relationship as actor/director went beyond mere collaboration. We crafted a movie together which has touched many people.”
Filming for the movie will start by February 2018 but the release date as such has not been fixed.
